Have you ever crushed berries with your rib cage? Have you ever sung with a plum in your mouth? Wouldn’t it be great if we all agreed that we were snapped off from branches at some point? Our Flow is Hard and The Great Twin Cities Poetry Road Show present Chelsea Tadeyeske, Russell Jaffee, and Edwin R. Perry, three poets ripped right out of the river, reading alongside local poet and Juicy Fruit producer extraordinaire, Sierra Demulder. Please join us for the Strange Plumberries reading, an event meant to make the sugar in your blood hula hoop.

Our Flow is Hard is teaming up with the bi-monthly Maeve’s sessions (run by the illustrious Matt Mauch) for a heavy hero stocked po-extravaganza.

Please come to beautiful northeast to hear and witness the flying gauze that is Elisabeth Workman! the river meteorite that is Steve Healey! the pure diamond jerky that is Meryl Depasquale! and the backflipping quicksand that is Brad Liening!

Also be on the lookout for genetic mutations that result in extraordinary powers beyond human comprehension.

OUR FLOW IS HARD will host one hour of this Saturday’s Smash the Black Cloud reading at the Black Dog in Lowertown, St. Paul. This reading is the Twin Cities’ iteration of 100K Poets for Change. There will be live music, tons of poets, an open mic, etc etc etc. Want to rupture the clouds? Want to see what’s inside? 7:00PM. Come precipitate with us. Bring your big sticks.

Dear gold strips. Dear pretty dents. Dear surprise plates.

Zachary Schomburg and Jenny Zhang, two poets that scribble on mountain backs and chins, are on a hearty America tour right now. They are stopping here in Minneapolis to swing their words open for us. We would like you to come hear them and feel your breath become tangled or dotted lines.

The reading will be at Harriet Brewing, a new and wonderous place in the Seward neighborhood where excellent (and local!) Harriet microbrews grow into mouth art. Laura from Hymie’s Record Roadshow will also be in the house to cruise records in circles before and after the reading.

Come join us for this special (21+! 21+!) event. We’ll play catch with our goosebumps! (Also: expect some kind of OFIH interactive surprise!)

JENNY ZHANG is the author of the poetry collection, Dear Jenny, We Are All Find (Octopus Books, 2012.) Her fiction, non-fiction, and poetry have appeared in Jezebel, Glimmertrain, The Iowa Review, The Guardian, Diagram, and Vice magazine. She writes for teenage girls at Rookie magazine, and teaches high school students in the Bronx.

ZACHARY SCHOMBURG is the author of Fjords vol. 1 (Black Ocean 2012), Scary, No Scary (Black Ocean 2009), and The Man Suit (Black Ocean 2007). He also does Octopus Books. He lives in Portland, OR, where he co-curates the Bad Blood Reading Series.
